You can save hundreds of dollars per year on your electric heating bills when you upgrade to an energy-efficient heating and cooling system. Upgrading is simple and affordable with utility incentives and tax credits available for qualified units. With a new heat pump you’ll not only save money, but your home can be more comfortable than ever. Air conditioning comes standard with heat pump systems, so you’ll be just as cool in the summer as you are cozy in the winter. And since these systems can improve air quality, you will enjoy clean, healthy air year-round.
To qualify for a rebate, the ductless heat pump must be installed in an existing home that is electrically heated, installed in accordance with Air Source Heat Pump Installation Specifications, and you must be an electric utility customer of the City of Port Angeles.
Window Replacement Rebate Program
New windows are far more energy-efficient than old windows. If you’re thinking of replacing the windows in your home, the City of Port Angeles may be able to help with their utility rebates. There are several options to consider when you shop for windows, most of which can significantly affect the cost. The City of Port Angeles offers a rebate for replacing single pane windows, single pane windows with storm windows, or metal framed dual pane windows. To qualify for a rebate, windows must have a National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) rated U-value of 0.30 or lower.

Clallam County PUD Residential Rebate Program
High-efficiency Heating
For climates with moderate heating and cooling needs, heat pumps offer an energy-efficient alternative to furnaces and air conditioners. Because they move heat rather than generate it, heat pumps can provide up to 4 times the energy they consume. Like your refrigerator, heat pumps use electricity to move heat from a cool space to a warm, one, making the cool space cooler and the warm space warmer. During the heating season, heat pumps move heat from the cool outdoors into your warm house; during the cooling season, heat pumps move heat from your cool house into the warm outdoors.
As much as half of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling. So making smart decisions about your home’s heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system can have a big effect on your utility bills — and your comfort.
- Installations must be approved by the PUD prior to purchase and installation.
- Incentives and rebates may be modified or discontinued at any time.
